Hello, I’m new to this site. I live in southern Pennsylvania and I can’t find anywhere to take my go kart legally. All of the off-road parks in my area don’t allow go karts. I’m not really interested in racing. But if I have to throw on my sticks to turn a couple laps, that’ll work. Just wanna go out and have a good time. I currently have a bolt together go kart. I bought it from GoPowerSports.
If anyone has any suggestions that are semi local the southern Pennsylvania please let me know
Thank you.

It is easier to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission. Seriously, a "sorry I didn't know (this was private property)" covers a multitude of sins. But otherwise I would ask for permission from land owners/property owners. Maybe a small user fee could be agreed upon?

Have you looked on Gewgle Maps satellite view for areas?

Is your kart full suspension or rigid frame? Slicks aren't a bad idea for any abandoned mall parking lots you find for example. I will wait for other folks to chime in.

Lets sees some pic's of your kart! Not sure what your area is like, urban, suburban, rural, etc... We would always like for new subs going up or condo's and right after they pour the cement and all the roads are done we would ride that sub for weeks. Lots of perfect street "bandit" racing and a lot of dirt trails for the construction access. There won't be street signs up yet and when the police eventually show up, we would just say we didn't know we couldn't ride there and they would always warn us or tell us to be careful and leave when houses start going up. We would jump from new sub to new sub. We always would find old abandoned factories or warehouses which were the best! But those were every were in Detroit in the 90's.

If you live in a more rural area, just talk to locals and get to know them. We now have a bunch of places to ride as we get older and a bunch of places to hunt as well! Bonus! My buddies and me met a guy who had 84 acres within 20 mins of us at a bar. He needed some help with his farm, grew wild feed "corn, beets, carrots" and needed some help around his farm. We were in our early 20's, and said we could help him. Ended up being an awesome dude and we'd help with all kinds of stuff. He'd feed us every time with homemade venison stew and unlimited BEER! We ended up meeting all his neighbors and everyone got to know us. We'd help a bunch of them and the rest is history. Almost 30 years hunting his land, riding karts, quads, mudding our trucks and Jeeps, farming, etc..... Sadly he passed a few years ago and this is the first year don't have access to the land. But all those other connections we made turned into his neighbors asking us to hunt their property's, letting us ride our toys there and helping them here and there with projects they need help with.

Sorry for the rant, it just was life changing opportunities just by talking to a guy at the bar. Good luck with finding a riding area. :cheers2:

I’m nearly 30 years old and ride a gokart 30 miles down to the highway onramp and the 30 miles back sometimes multiple times a day!

If anyone ever complained I will not ****ing hesitate to set down with them and ask them sensible questions.

Do you want kids having fun in july on mini bikes and go karts or you want them to show there license proving there 18 years of age and so they can buy perks and sour diesel over the counter like Tylenol?

Dont get Cheese then.
Sounds like you want Indicas then.
Don’t want any of it… I’ll stick to the gokarts and talk about the drugs as an excuse to stay out of trouble IF pulled over.

Flaunt drug use and how the illegal stuff is now sold over the counter to anyone who can flash a license proving there 18… All of the sudden people don’t see the person on the mini bike as a serious issue.

I have read stories of gas station/smoke shop 7oh perk addiction and from what I gather the withdrawals from that stuff have ruined family’s.

People on Facebook outing their family members for 7oh addiction and putting all their business about loosing everything and going homeless over buying the 7oh perks.

I’m gonna go ride gokarts now… It is 74 degrees and sunny so nice outside! Kind of makes me feel like a Sunday morning after church when my grandfather would buy me and my sister Dairy Queen!

A good buddy of mine was taking Kratom for pain for years. No issues. He saw that 7oh stuff at the store and started trying that. He ended up having to go to rehab for 2 weeks. His own decision because he was addicted and the withdrawls were so bad he could barely move. Luckily he is a mail carrier and the union got him the time off. They compare it to heroin withdrawls. It took him a few months to feel normal again. That shyt is bad news and can't imagine how many teens are taking it. Gas station drugs are legal and dangerous.

The post below is a cropped Facebook post a girl made yesterday about her mother. You yourself could find this very Facebook post if you searched. I cropped it to remove the name of the person who publicly posted this about her mother on facebook. People will go out of there way to do ANYTHING but get a hobby…

Who thinks some random crap from a gas station (that actually inebriates you) is a good idea to take? I dont believe ANYONE of average intelligence would consider this. You HAVE to be dumb or a junkie looking for "something-anything".

100%. I feel this way about a lot of things. Politics, drugs(man made), etc..... Teens are dumb with undeveloped brains and sometimes bad parents. These "gas station drugs" are targeting the youth and need to be stopped! Almost all of this crap comes from China as well.

All this to prove a point I won’t let some ***face hassle me over a gokart. I’m a white kid 28 years old with no prior record. I’ll tell a cop to his face they take my motorized toys away I’ll do drugs instead.

Then Immediately after I blurt that out I’ll look this cop in his face and ask him why he won’t get a mini bike and come ride and have fun with us?

I’m very ready to talk about war and how the drone operators will often taunt there enemies and hover the drone over them taunting them for minutes before flying into the person and detonating. No one should be hassling anyone over motorized toys. Anyone who does is a ****ing looser.

There was some...synthetic(?) weed(?) available in little foil pouches about 10 years ago sold in gas stations, 7-11s, etc, anyone know what I'm talking about? I had an ex with teen sons getting into that and turning them into drug fiends. I blocked her and all that crap out of my mind and haven't thought about it in years.

Back on topic, there was indeed a failed subdivision and lots of open, flat, mostly cleared land behind her house. There were paved streets most ending in a cul de sac (perfect for a turn around), curbs, a few sidewalks, fire hydrants but no houses. It was very surreal but prime karting and minibiking territory. I wasn't into karting then, this was pre DIYGK otherwise I would have taken advantage of it.

Partsguy is my new hero. I knew he was passionate but this is an epic mindset.

that stuff was called spice and would melt a hole in your brain just like the crap today.

I’m very very passionate about people being lenient.

I’m going to find the pictures in the mini bike newbs page of the kid who just got his bike taken and impounded. He was telling everyone he built it with money mowing lawns and couldn’t afford to pay the yard cause the other fines. They just ****ing stole from the kid. That’s all they did..

I’m risking my squeaky clean 28 year straight record by just riding a gokart down the backroads.

If a cop actually pulls me over and gives me a hard time I’m wondering how it would even go? My first charges ever and maybe I loose the kart?

After that obviously the cops would be watching the backstreets so there is no point of me riding the other karts. I would be better off selling them and finding a new hobby. Best case scenario is no charges and he tells me to push it home..

K2... Its all over in the prisons. Dont look it up.

My kid still owes over 2000 because the neighbor wanted to be an *** and constantly call the cops, even when he would just be leaving town like the police told him to do. Had his stuff impounded several times.

He gave up and sold his stuff last summer.
