I just got a Manco 710E go kart. I'm having a blast on it, but I noticed both front swing arms are bent. I was going to replace them, but it looks like you can't get them anymore. Has anyone here had that kart and modded or beefed up the original arms? Had new arms made? Looking for suggestions. Thanks.

hey shane

i have just bought that kart to and i had a broke a arm i didnt know the arms were discontinued either i had a welder heat them up and bend them but be carefull the round steel is tube and it cracks easily. im having some made using the old end pieces off of the a arm and fabing 2 new rails to them with gussets so they will mount up if i get them done ill send you some pics.

I hit a tree with mind and bent my passenger side arm back 45 degrees. I took it to a fabricator to bend back with heat and the had him weld in a sheet metal plate in the open void of each arm to make them both more solid. I will find some pics. I took a bunch

those a arm pics look good i was thinking something similar. looks like those are new shocks? i had to buy a new one there pricey. if you have done any modding on this buggy do you think a handa gx340 will fit on it. i have one but not sure if tc will fit and line up????.

No real mods but some additions. I moved the ignition, on/off and light switches to a dashboard i made of 6mm Sintra (expanded PVC). The little round black plate behind the steering wheel if for the suction cup for my GPS.

I also added a wind guard on the front which also somewhat protected against prickers and small branches on the paths that I had behind my house.

I could not tell you if your engine would fit. I have only messed with the Subaru-Robin it has and it has never let me down with power or torque. I do kinda wish it had the 13hp version, but I'm ok with it the way it is.

oh yeah...about the shocks. I had to buy new shocks because when I hit the tree, the original one blew right the hell up and was in 4 pieces. This is not a really good pic but you get the hint of what happened.

I bought minibike shocks from Northern tool to last me till I got some better shocks. I would not recommend doing any hard offroading with the minibike shocks...spend some money on some good ones.

I often thought about modding the front end and adding 2 shocks or 2 swing arms....but I got lazy and wanted to ride.

Thanks so much for the pics. I had pretty much the same idea after looking at mine yesterday. It seems like a plate would help a lot. I'm thinking about changing shocks too, but I want this issue fixed first. Mine are bending up and it's making my tires like this /-\ . It seems like it's bending right on the axle carrier and the bent tubing. I might talk to a local machice shop. I will take pics for sure. Anyone else have pics? Thanks again!

did you guys come up with any rear fenders my buddy told me it throws mudd up on ya???

man I wanted so bad to do front and rear fenders. Northern tool sells trailer fenders in 8 sizes that you can weld on with some minor metal fab. The front tires are the worst especially in the snow/slush. You would have to make them so they would travel with the front swing arms which seemed to be more of a hassle then what it was worth.

The back tires don't throw too much at all. But isn't getting muddy the fun of it? well, kinda, thats why I added the front guard/sheild so I wouldnt get too messed up on long rides

I picked one of the Manco 710e's off of Craigslist and got the broken 10hp Subaru engine running again. I thought the kids would get too dirty if it rained so I added fenders made from a 32 gallon trash can and some pipe supports I picked up at a hardware store.

It's nothing special, but only cost around $20 total and should work. I may need to reinforce the front edge to take the wind load caused by towing it on my trailer.

If something breaks a new trash can costs $10-15 so parts are cheap.
