Should be in the shop...
Ok i need to remove my karts pillow block bearings on the axle. They are very slightly rusted on after a year or two of not removing them.
The bearings are fine and I dont want to destroy them.
I would need a 300mm bearing puller in order to go down that route, but one costs £50. No thanks!
I have tried a big hammer and I can only think of three options:
1. Heat them at school with an oxy torch. This may ruin tge bearings though.
2. Make 300mm arms for our 150mm bearing puller.
3. Take them to a machine shop or a car mechanic and ask them to use a puller or press to remove them.
What do you think? I am tempted to heat them but will they break because they have lost their temper or something?
Thanks
