Remove metal plating?

I would like to remove junk from my motor, so i ask... Are these pieces NECESSARY?

They seem to be just covering part of the engine and i would like to remove them if i can

The one in front of the flywheel won't hurt. The bottom on can be slightly more important as it flows air from the flywheel around the head to cool the whole thing.

Without those pieces the motor can run hotter and just get random blowing air to cool it. They are there for a reason, if they could have eliminated them and saved .03 per motor they would have.

No, Do not remove any of those fan shrouds as they aid in cooling. In terms of "Junk" your missing the most important parts I'd remove for go kart use like the low oil sensor from the block, The governer linkage and gear and so on...

ive removed the low oil sensor and was also wondering what wires can be removed from the little bunch there...?

You can remove the entire low oil sensor from the block and that little gold colour box which the low oil sensor plugs into. All you will have left after that is the shroud kill switch and the coil ground wire.
