Anyone know where to find a wireless remote kill switch? Like those on small 4-wheelers.

I can think of a way to make one using one of those cheap forward/reverse radio control toys, but it wouldn't be very reliable. I didn't know they had "wireless" kill switches.

Yeah, I was thinking of one of those when I read this thread... But...

Anyways... those 27MHz ones absolutely stink. You get like a few feet before they die out. You'll need to get like a 75MHz transmitter (3-4 channel will work fine)... ect...

It's not gonna be cheap though :sifone:

That's why I said that it would be unreliable if it was one of the cheap ones. Not all 27MHz systems are bad. My Nitro R/C truck could go about 1/4 mile before I started losing signal.

you could just make an 'external' system, a servo motor connected to your existing on/off switch via a linkage.

is that what u were talking about kibble, or did u mean wired up? :huh:


talk to your local hobby shop, they sell servo motors for r/c petrol cars. [not cheap chinese kid stuff] and just rig it up..

No, not with a servo, I meant wired directly to it using a relay.

If I happen to have a cheap R/C or find one, I'll show how to do it. It's quite simple to do.

I want it for the safety factor. My son is only 5 and this is his first kart and I want to be able to kill the engine just in case he goes where he shouldn't. I have about 2 acres and there is highway near by. If you recall this kart is a bit extreme so my focus is safety. I will have it governed way back and maybe even throttled back to help keep him in check until he gets used to it. He will be able to grow into it for quite some time, that's why I am building it on the extreme side. Just want to make sure he's around to enjoy it for years to come.

I bought one!! Don't know how to wire it .... :(

I actually bought one of the switches from this company, but when it arrived, there wasn't a shred of documentation on how to wire it. I planned to hooked it up to my 100cc 2-stroke. Not sure what to do next.

Has anyone bought/used this switch?

The switch has one white 4-pin connector that seems to be for some specific ingnition system, and 2 separate blue/white leads.

I've contacted Extreme Motor Sales, if they answer, I'll post the result here.
