I don't understand what you you're asking.

The sending unit is ranged from 240 ohms (empty) to 33 ohms (full). I found a gauge ranged the same. It uses 12 volts that is hooked up to the gauge.

Test fit to check axle gear clearance. Going to have to raise engine 2 inches. Everything went well except some bolts/nuts they supplied were the wrong thread size. I think the blue mounting plate looks nice on the HF 6.5.

Came home today and found my wheel/tire order waiting on the porch! I ordered from gokartgalaxy.com. They are a split rim design so assemble is very easy. The finish looks great....especially compared to the old stuff that came off the kart.

Brake kit from BMIkarts.com arriived. Anyone know the pros/cons of mounting the brake caliper forward/behind the rotor? Is there a better position for maximum torque or is it just preference?

Same brake kit I bought. Just installed it yesterday and it works great. Me and mykart weigh about 480lbs. Stops great. I have mounted calipers in all sorts of ways. Just as long as the whole surface of the pads are contacting the disc, you should be fine.

wow that kart is getting some nice upgrades!

also i have seen you didnt bypass the low oil sensor in the engine. you might be able to set that up to a gauge (lol) but i would cut or disconnect the yellow wire coming out of the engine because it might shut off around turns where the oil flows to one side of the engine and it will shut off every time.

as far as the caliper, thats gonna lock up the wheels solid!!!!

what do you have planned for paint?

Your correct. I have not touched the any of the electrical as of yet. I do plan to disconnect the oil switch from kill switch as you mentioned.

...sorry, I didnt even see this question the first time I read your post.

The frame will be painted black. I saw a cool trick with a hood one time where they painted it black and then foam padding over it and sprayed a light coat of silver/grey. (It's the foam padding you would put in a tool box drawer that has small square holes in it.) The final result is a carbon fiber effect.

I am hoping to have very small accents of blue throughout the kart; gas tank, TC plate, battery mount.

Small world that you ordered from gokartgalaxy: he's up here in East Texas too if I remember right his name is Clint too! I met the guy last year when I asked if I could meet him at his house to check out steering shafts for my son's first kart to be sure they would be long enough. Wasn't but about an hour drive for me from Longview. The kart is looking great by the way!

Your karts looking good man

I think you should mount your caliper where mine is here:

Just because that's the strongest most logical location to mount the bracket, plus your lines will be as short/tidy as possible lowering the possibility of them ever getting snagged on something and damaged.

(my brake line retainers were made from zip ties with short sections of fuel line used as spacers)
