I hope this is the correct category! So I am in the process of buying parts and building my go kart. I have a rear axle that's 1" with a step to 3/4 at each end. The question or problem I'm having is finding a wheel that is one piece That has the step for the axle. am I going to have to get a 2 piece because of the step on the axle? I already have 10/4.5R5 on the front so I wanted the same or slightly bigger if possible! Hopefully you guys can help!

Uhhhhhh lets back up here

1) the step means you can put a hub on it like this. That's what manco did with these axles in the past. http://www.ebay.com/itm/4-x-4-Wheel...316656?hash=item2108e799b0:g:vdcAAOSwL7VWoPrN

2) you can also put just a straight through 1" bore hub on an axle like that, and from the looks of it (since you said you are having trouble finding the right rims that are 1 piece) you already have found the solution to this, but its a 2 piece.... why do you want it to be one piece? There is nothing wrong with these two piece rims, you just put the tires on them with a tube in the tire. Problem solved. To secure the rim to the axle you can just use 1" lock collar on one side of the rim and a 3/4" nut and washers on the stepped end.

No...they make 3/4" / 1" wheels and hubs. Once again...a pic would be extremely helpful.

I was basing my opinion on this, if those wheels are stepped then I apologize for any confusion.

As you can see from what you posted...there is definitely not enough 3/4 portion to hold a wheel and use the 1" as a stop. That is exactly as Grant described it with 1" hubs and lock collars.

As always..a pic would go a long way in avoiding confusion.

1" bore wheels will work. Add piece of conduit on the 1" short enough to get a flat washer and lock nut on the end of the axle.just a suggestion
