What kind of paint have you all used?? Krylon or rustoleum or any other brand?? how has it held out?? Post up your preference and why you like it.

I have used auto paint in the past but not an option at this time. It's time to get the paint on the project:bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

Thanks Rockstomper

i used krylon fusion. you put a silver base coat, then whatever color you want on top and it shines. it looks great if you take your time and spend about a week on it.

i spent $5 bucks per can, so it was 2 base cans ($10) and 3 color cans ($25).

not too bad

I used Rust-Oleum white metal primer as the base coat and then used Rust-Oleum Metallic Blue paint (which has a small flake to it) and a final top coat of Krylon Crystal Clear. I think it looks great . . actually better than I hoped.

2 coats metal primer
4 coats Metallic Blue
1 coat Crystal Clear

The hardest part was waiting the full amount of drying time between coats. It's held up OK.

You can find pics of my Blue Kart in the Project Log section under Steve Lord.

POR 15 works well and you can brush it on and it smooths out. A bit expensive though.
