Well GOOD News! Just when I thought this thread was Dead as a Rat...
Back in February we built a Barn Owl nest box. I think I may have shared a little about it in "The Poboy Way". Appropriate place for all things wild and having to do with Critters.
Anyway we installed the box high on the trunk of a tall Mexican Fan Palm. 2 months ago I noticed a Barn Owl sitting on the trunk above the box. But I have not seen or heard an own recently.
Last night I heard an Owl on that side of the property. Tonight I heard him again! I also saw him. Then I told my wife and we watched as the Owl circled then went into the Nest Box!

Hopefully it decides to make this home. He will take care of the gophers directly below the Palm tree and the rats too.
No more poison here!

Well just after I typed that^ I realized I can hear 2 Owls. Excellent A breeding pair. They will eat twice as many critters and hopefully have 2 or 3 babies to feed as well.
