Engine is running like it should, just trying to track down some usable seatbelts. Other then that, a quick detail and she will be ready to ride. I'm going out today to a local kart track, the owner said he might have so belts that will work for what I need. If not, my brother owens a wrecking yard and I'll pull some out of a car until I can find some that I like.

Nothing like pulling it off at the wire but I want everything to be as perfect as possible for her.

Great! which engine did you go with? Im curious on how the 2 stroke feels if thats the one you are going to use. Im presenting mine on Sunday. Just finishing up with paint, I hate Painting!

One thing to consider, Most people prefer not to use seat belts on go karts unless they are fully caged with a roll bar. If it happens to flip, its better that the rider falls off and away from the kart rather then being stuck and or pinned by a 60lb Kart on top of them. If it had an overhead cage then its better to keep them inside the cage with a seat belt.

Maybe a few other guys can chime in on there experience with seat belts.

Junk yard sounds like a food spot to get some belts. You might have to weld mounting tabs or hopefully find some with a buckle so you can just wrap it around the tubing.

Thanks.
Spent 30 years as a wrench and always hated the sound of SPROING followed by the sound of small pieces landing over a 20' radius when you weren't expecting it!

I feel ya! No worries, the recoil spring assembly is retained internally. When you remove the exterior mounting bolts, nothing can happen.

I have a 4 point car harness in mine. Pretty secure

Just picked up two for free but they are both 3" belts and much to large for the kart. I've got a guy that has a set of 2" harnesses that I'm waiting to hear back from. Worse case, I'll go with what I have and replace them next week.

Ended up not being able to use the belts I wanted but I have some that will work for now. The most important part...It's finished enough for her to ride tomorrow. I'll take final pictures as soon as I figure out who in the house took the camera
