BM- Yes- you might well have a variator. Very cool- I have not yet had the chance to play with one.

I wonder if it could be modified for use on a horizontal setup. Might make for a cool manual "transmission" for a gokart.
A possibility I supose.

Absolutely no reason why you couldn't use it; packaging issues are packaging issues whether it be clutch, TC of variator. You'll just have to do a little noodling over it.

Maybe one of these days I will rip it out of the mower and slap in on a kart....
Might aswell, just got a 5hp briggs flatty that has a pulley on the shaft. Gotta use it for something! :D

Toystory, you ever gonna post more pics of the "UTLT thing" with those mean tires on there? Or have you got something else planned to make us all drool?

Update time...

I got some wiring done today. Tied the taillights into the AC lighting circuit. On the DC side, I ran a new circuit thru a fuse and a new switch, to run the auxiliary lights. While I was at it, I fell victim to the "because I can" syndrome, and wired up the brake lights, through a motorcycle brake light switch. Both the brake lights and auxiliary lights are tied in through the ignition switch, so that even if you leave the light switch on, turning the ignition off kills the lights. Also, the brake lights run through the auxiliary light switch, so that they only activate if the lights are switched on. Since I had them, I swapped a set of LED taillight bulbs in.

Oh, one other thing I did, I finally got the hood mounted. Factory clip at the back, hood pins at the front.

Oh, man... THAT was FUNNY! Okay- I wanted to do a little photo work, using the pose in pic#3, above. But I had to retake the photo zoomed out a bit for resizing. I drove back over there with the camera, but got the tractor a couple inches too far to the left. I started to go OVER! Faced with rolling, I jumped off the low side...

...Into the POND!!! My shoes are soaked! LMAO. Fortunately, the tractor didn't roll, and out comes the winch cable again!

Same reason as ALL the good stuff: I didn't see it coming. I was trying to replicate a photo pose I had done flawlessly just before dinner...

I SHOULD have seen it coming. Murphy's law!

What you need here.....

:lolgoku::funnypost::oops:

:idea2: Next on the list of mods; a compound snorkel that provides air to both the engine and the driver.......

What I had to chuckle over was the fact that at first glance, with the hood on, it looked like a homemade tractor from somewhere in the Ukraine that I saw on Youtube......:surrender:

:stir: :devil2: :bannana: :bannana: :bannana:

:thumbsup::cheers2: Pat

:oops: :surrender: I wasn't trying to be demeaning; the tractor in question was an articulated 4WD with full 3 point hitch and live PTO PLUS a heated cab. It's somewhere in my bookmarks file; if I ever win the lottery, I might build something like it myself......

:cheers2: :thumbsup: :popcorn:

(Is it just me,or does it seem like it'seasier to run afoul of sensibilities over the internet?)

No worries. I was giggling as I was typing. It's all good- takes a LOT more than that to offend me. Besides- I'm Canadian above all else...

Nope, we call it 'Muricah, and actually we are The United States, and the correct pronunciation is now United Kingdom.

You only use "The" as a plural. THE States. 'Muricah, is Muricah. Not THE 'Muricah. THE United Kingdom is a Plural, and I'm sure everybody in THE England, THE Scotland, or THE Ireland would concur. I should ask my neighbour- He's from THE Wales.

Not... A... Chance... :lolgoku:

^^Something to consider... but the question is how deep do we really want to go? :D
I think id just have it stickin gout of the hood. That would give me a good 2 1/2ft to work with... I dunno...

Not very deep. I did some runs through about a foot of water last week. The belt gets wet and starts to slip. Stay too deep for too long, and you're looking at soaked electricals, (magneto, charge coil etc) and possibly drawing water into the engine and tranny. When a hot gearbox (or engine) hits cold water, the contraction associated with rapid cooling will pull water in past the seals.
