Spent some time on wiring. Looks much more bedder, don't ya think?



Mounted the fuel pump, made heat shields and put in a place to mount the fuel filter and regulator.
Shopped around for a radiator.

I have a metric shyt ton of aluminum sheet. Time to use it, and now a place as well.
I am anticipating an abundance of heat round them parts. A new ECM is beyond $500 somewhere. I'm betting heat might be an enemy. Yeah I got nuthin bedder to do anyway. Its too cold outside...
The shop is a balmy 51F after burning the wood stove all day.

This thing will make the walls smoke and make you open the big door.
Just keep a little coals going and it keeps my shop hot!

And yes I move the stuff out of the summer storage corner.

Thats a classic. I had one like it, but it finally burned through. replacement ain't nearly as good. Burns lotta wood, not much heat.

Been getting down to the 30's here, already using the propane 2 burner heater in my 1/4 of the way insulated garage. Iv'e been keeping my eyes out for a good deal on a wood burning stove, but my cheap *** hasn't found one yet. I have plenty of chopped and stacked wood to boot!

Get an old 'letric water heater tank a sawzall and get after it.
ya probably shouldnt tell yer insurance guy.
make a waste oil burner. There is some serious heat free and ya don't havta get all sweaty and dirty cutting and stackin it.

I had a waste oil furnace in my shop. 80’X 54’. 12’ walls and would keep it sunny and 70 up to -20* on 15 gallons of oil a day. Just don’t mix cooking oil with engine oil, it turns solid!

So, l played around with fuel system component. Did l mention i scored a fuel pump and cartridge fuel filter! Neighbor and gearheah thought it would be a good trade some machining l did fer him. He got the short end of that deal!
l'm finding out there is not an abundance of space to put all this stuff. Here what l got so far. All fuel components behind a firewall, driver on the other side.

On this episode of project stoopid we are digging into high pressure fuel delivery methods. The system operates in the area of 45 PSI. The slaves in the dungeon are playing dumb. The fuel rail has these quick disconnect thingys that look similar to an air fitting. Without the threaded portion.

research finds everything from PTFE lined braided fuel line, aluminum tubing, AN fittings, nylon braided, hydraulic hose, all the way down to " just get regular fuel hose and claamps.
l have both halves of disconnect thingy, but the hose attached is a hard plastic stuff that appears to be shrunk on.
The run from the fuel cell to the pump is easy, just hose. (No pressure).
From the pump to filter to the regulator to the fuel rail reguire something else.
hard tubing isn't going to work. Anyone that has tried that has dealt with the leaks, cracks etc.
the fitting pictured is $50+ at Jegs so that won't work either.
So the question for our panel of experts:
What is the opinion of you smart as.. errr l mean experts?

yeah, l know 90% of ya guys are using gravity fed fuel.

Kinda what l'm thinkin. l need to figger out how adapt the hose to the fuel rail.
Where do ya find AN fittings that cost afortune? Is there a male 3/8 pipe to AN6 adaptor.? Don't want a bunch of fittings.
