you guys crack me up!

Ive got that exact bunk bed for my daughter...lol.

Looks good... but just a headsup... watch your frame weight. HF212 is a good motor n all... but weight tends to cause friction(both physical and financial)... friction=slower speeds/acceleration=not the 'best' possible performance...but never sacrifice safety over performance... especially when theres a child in the mix.

Also... have you looked into the rear axle you plan on using(that's an awfully wide span to mount an axle to)?

... nice welds BTW.

thanks on the welds, self taught welder here, i have done flux and mig. i have stuck with the flux since it is simple and does well. so far i can still pick the frame up with no issue on my own. i am planning on having it geared down a bit for decent torque and take off. speed isnt exactly the plan yet lol. as far as rear axle i am looking at the 44 inch ones. i figured the rear tires will tuck in just a bit in the rear.

here is the next progress pics, i got the lower seat installed and the seat back cut and ready to be welded on.

and more welds

Just an update. Not on nightmare but my son's quad. Went through the writing and redid a bunch. It now has high and low beam head light and a tail light. Plus it just looks cleaner now.

Finally got to work on nightmare. Got the front part of the cage partially complete. Dont worry the two vertical bars will be cut off.

i see those little harbor freight quality wheels... hope you're not planning on using those for the front wheels! many many posts on here about how those are a BAD idea to use...

In total I have $20 in the whole thing. The wheels are for initial setup and working out the bugs. Once I really start riding it it will get good wheels and tires.

Got the front suspension started. Building a box to hold all 4 control arms. Remember the hf wheel are for mock up and move around.

So a little change. The angled bed frame metal was dirty and wouldn't weld. So I got some 1 square from tsc. And I got the front bottom frame done. The frame is angled up a bit to help with approach angles to the front suspension.

:wai: Bed frame material is usually spring steel and most people with a 110 welder have trouble welding it, can not get enough heat for penetration. A little trick is to pre-heat the spot your are going to weld.
