hey everyone, im chris. i already introduced my self and some of you know about this build but i figured i would start puting up pictures and progress.

a little bit of a back story. got my son a 110cc quad for christmas and thought hey i need something to ride to. here on base we have a monthly trash day called bulk pick up. i go around and collect all the metal to use/recycle. found a couple hefty bed frames and like 8 junk bikes so this is the beginning of project nightmare (haha get it? cause its made from bed frames!!!!)

this it a total cheap/diy/innovative first build. i encourage ideas and thoughts but please dont bash.

here is the main part of the frame with the rear part of the overhead roll bar welded on.

planning on front suspension and came up with this idea, front fork from bikes as control arms. two mounting spots for on the frame and one for the spindle along with an opening for the shock. another thing i am looking for is an old quad to rob parts from. i have a line on one but havent heard back yet



now for spindle i am going to use the part where the for attaches to the fame from the bikes



for power plant i picked up the predator engine from HF for $90 on black friday.

Ive got that exact bunk bed for my daughter...lol.

Looks good... but just a headsup... watch your frame weight. HF212 is a good motor n all... but weight tends to cause friction(both physical and financial)... friction=slower speeds/acceleration=not the 'best' possible performance...but never sacrifice safety over performance... especially when theres a child in the mix.

Also... have you looked into the rear axle you plan on using(that's an awfully wide span to mount an axle to)?

... nice welds BTW.

Cool. They should've quit after "...And Justice For All" though. Last album I respect. Fame changed them, IMHO.

The stuff prior to and including though... freaking masterpieces.

Kill 'Em All, and ...And Justice For All are definitely my faves.

Sorry... last off topic comment from me. I'm sure no one cares about my musical tastes anyway... especially in someone else's thread :)

im Listening to Metallica S&M hero of the day on my pc now. but ozzy!!!! fire in the sky will be next maybe some van halen after that:wai:.

The only time I would put Van Halen AFTER Ozzy is if you were planning to listen to anything they put out with what's his name as part of their "Come Back Tour".:ack2::ack2::ack2:

randy rhoads? randy rhoads one of the best getour players of all times. in my opinion beter thin van halen.:oops:
