What's up, guys?
I replaced an old engine with an out of the box predator 212 last year. Eventually the the double flange hub broke and I had a hard time finding one. Anyways, it stayed out in the weather for a few months with gas still in it. I thought I had put it away, but I was wrong, haha.
Anyways, I got the hub, tires, etc. I cleaned the carb, gas tank, filter and fuel lines. Give it a start and it would run for about 30 seconds and cut off. Figured it was the float setting, but apparently the float on here is not adjustable. Cleaned it again and it would only run with choke on and with the throttle all the way back (giving it gas). Found the idle jet under the idle screw and I think there was something plugging it up, so I cleaned it out real good.
Now I can't even get it to start. With or without choke. Starting fluid doesn't seem to help much. If it does start, it has a really slow chugging idle for 2 seconds, and then dies. I've also cleaned the filter and adjusted the valves.
It's also back firing sometimes when trying to start. I think that has to do with the starting fluid. Maybe I put to much of it in it. Also has brand new spark plug.
Any ideas?
