I have a predator 420cc engine with the governor still in it.I have built this Go-Kart from the ground up over the last several mths. This is the last step before it is totally 100% finished. How do I hook up the throttle cable? I took the spring off that goes to the governor up to the arm the throttle cable connects to and now when I put it back on, the engine revs up. Is there a way to bypass the governor without taking it out? Can someone help navigate me through this mess, thanx

I would not bypass the governor! Either open engine and remove completely or keep hooked up. It can come apart if bypassed and trash the engine

Make sure that the spring is connected right so that you can watch the governor arm move as you work the throttle

I have watched video after video and cannot find the proper way to hook up the throttle cable to my 420cc engine with the governor still attached. Outta all the information I found it only tells me how to do it with the governor removed. Is there a way to do it with the governor in place? If not then I'm going to have to drain the oil, gas, take it apart and remove the governor. PITA!

My govenor is still connected. As far as the throttle cable, I ran the cable housing through the clamp and tightened, then ran the actual cable through the barrel nut and tightened/loosened with a 10mm wrench and screwdriver.

Are you using the stock carb? If so then the stiff spring coming off the governor armUnder tank closest to the shaft goes to the pre drilled location to the far left of the throttle lever closest to the tank, the other wire rod with thin spring wound around it goes to the other end of governor arm that connects to carb butterfly. Make sure the butterfly is moving all the way open and closed and that you don’t have vacuum leak. Check by spraying carb cleaner around carb and cylinder head if it revs up then you have leak! If installed correctly you should see governor move when you move throttle linkage,

Wish i knew the proper terminology...
Looks like there a dewhickee to hold the cable housing and there has to be a thingamabob you could connect the cable end to.
