Predator 301 the **** is this on the end of the crankshaft?

What sort of equipment was that attached to?

The fuzzy dark picture doesn't really help figure out how to get it off, but I'm going to say you probably need a gear puller. And probably some heat.

Too dark of a picture, but it looks like there is a hole in the middle of it for a bolt to go through the pto. If not, is there any sets screws holding it in place?

A small gear puller and any decent penetrating oil (PB Blaster, Deep Creep) will help get it out.

That looks like the remnants of a gear reducer, and the box and others were cut off as the PO couldnt get the gear/bearings/seal off of the shaft....

Your going to need to use heat..... and off hand.. its going to be a real pain to take that off as there isnt a through hole to put the puller against...

Clean up the end of the shaft as much as you can where the end of the gear meets the shaft, and see if there is a keyway in the shaft... get the grinder with a really thin(Thin as you can find) zip disc. go slow and cut down the length of the shaft, carefull not to dig into the main part of the crank...
If anything the piece should heat up enough to make it somewhat loose.....Could also try rubbing the seams with candle wax stubs....paraffin really seeps into cracks to break loose...
If not, and it hasn't moved... you going to need an acetylene torch to really heat this off....

The press tool wont work as there isnt anything to bear against...

Perhaps a Pickle fork might work if you can bet a gap wide enough and good enough to bear against both parties...

Sad to say.... its quite the pickle......;) so to speak....

mckutzy is correct a press tool won't work sadly. I've considering using these axle collars I have and welding some tabs and tapping it for a bolt to create a "pusher" but not sure how successful that would be. I've been soaking it in pb for about 4 days now, did apply a bit of heat to it last night.

I think you're right @mckutzy and I'm going to have to cut it off. I was able to get those 2 pulley looking things to slide off, and I didn't see any set screws or anything so the blade it will get.

FWIW this motor came with a "go kart" for $50, it fired up breifly with fuel poured into the carb but when I pulled the bowl off it was completely dry. If I get this driver off I'll buy a new carb and clutch. If not I'm not out a whole lot.

The heat will aid in loosening it, and you will have an exposed shaft end to use a puller against. Doing it that way will also decrease the risk of damaging the shaft and seal vs cutting it lengthwise and trying to split it.

As a rule, I don't like using anything that pushes against the block, particularly with an impact force, such as a pickle fork. You risk damaging the seals, main bearings, and the block itself if you're not careful.

I was referring to the register that it has on the shaft to be acted upon with the tool no the case...... if there is anything good enough to use that is...

There is a step on the shaft at the rear to the gear..
A shaft item.. A clutch,gearbox ect. will butt against that step or register..

You might be able to wedge the fork in that area.. If there is room... Most likely need to cut it off...

dill a small hole in the center of the gear and put a bolt in it and use the ball joint seperator, I have done this many times just gotta make sure the bolt bottoms in the crank and isn't too snug on the gear

another idea:

Drill a hole in the end of the gear and tap it with 1/4-28 threads. Screw a grease zerk in there, and start pumping with a good quality lever grease gun. You'll effectively turn the gear and shaft into a 10,000 psi hydraulic ram.

I've used this method many times on various things and it works pretty well, especially combined with some light hammer action.

Ohh ya... Totally forgot the old grease trick... Again...

If you can drill that piece... It'll get off quick and painless.. For sure...

Well you were right about that piece. I cut about an 1/8th in. off the end and sure enough that end plate literally fell off and tada the end of the crankshaft was exposed.

Now will begin the pulling process, which I've started. Everything is so rusty that it's really on there. I'm going to continue to apply heat and PB and let that settle for a day or so and see if it slides off a little easier. Maybe I need a better puller. It's really hard to keep the crank from spinning.

Well you have a bit to push and clamp onto now...
Put a bolt in the end as a bearing to act against when you mount the puller.. this will save the threads you have...
