worked before i did the work replacing crankshaft i adjusted the valvles to .003 cleaned the carburator idk what else i could do to get it to run
yeah i alligned the dots on it, original carb and by lifters you mean the little things that hold the rods for the valves? those are in place got a good sparkplug and got fuel and oil probably just gonna get a new one if i cant figure it out lolDid you align the dots on the cam with the crankshaft?
Did a lifter fall out? They have a tendency to do that.
What else?
Aftermarket carb or original.
Got spark?
Got fuel?
got spark and the gas and compression i dont have any gaskets i can use besides the ones that came with and theyre fine, and if in thinking what you mean by the head bolts those are right tooDoes it have spark at the plug? Does it have gas in the carburetor bowl? Does it have compression?
Did you replace the head gasket and torque the head bolts?
i think it tries to sputter it makes noise when pulling it like i pull it makes no noise and wont lock up like completly and its on and the ground wire is in the same place it was originallyHow about some info about what its doing?
All we know is, it worked, you worked on it, now it doesn't work.
Does it try to sputter?
Can you pull the cord and the engine turns over? Or does it lock up at some point?
Simple things.
Is the switch on?
Did you pinch a wire and its grounding the coil?
imma have to get some carb clean and try that but you reminded me that first time i tried starting it it make a pop noise so i might have messed something up already? or would it popping be fineSpray some carb clean in the throat and pull it. Does it try to pop off then?
i wanna say it could be the flywheel key because the “”new”” crankshaft was horribly taken care of so i dont doubt the keys messed up i would put my other crankshaft in but the bolt hole for the clutch is stripped and im too lazy to rethread it and nobody else would do it for meWell the timing has to be right.
Did you mess with the flywheel or coil?
You can squirt gas in the throat too.
Anything flammable.
If the engine has air and fuel mixed at the proper AFR, compression and a spark at the right time it should run.
Gotta find out what's amiss.
If it wants to pop off with some added gas down its throat its a sign the timing is good.
If it doesn't then it could be something to look into.
Sheard flywheel keys have tricked a many peeps.
imma have to get some carb clean...
