Duing my WOT plug chop tests, I noticed the dreaded off idle bog. When opening the throttle up too quickly the engine will hesitate and die. Sometimes it will hesitate for a long time, then give a couple bangs, then start to rev.
I assume it goes lean when I open the throttle too fast. I'll play around with the air screw and enrichment circuit (choke) and see if it gets any better by either enriching or leaning the idle mixture. If it gets better with a richer mix, I'll try a bigger pilot jet. I will gladly run with an overly rich pilot jet if it means I can stomp on the pedal when I want to to.
I should have gotten this straightened out the other day. I moved the buggy out of my friend's garage to a place with some room to ride. I planned to tune the carb all day, or until satisfied. I left the TC belt at home. Next time.
