I had a Ruger SP101 Match Champion 357, 4.2 inch barrel. I thought it was too heavy for EDC. I did carry it in the woods, but I sold it and got the 9mm 5 shot revolver. Much lighter, easier to carry, more power than 38 special, although no comparison to 357, it is relaible and accurate.
Very nice. Mine is the 4.2" barrel but not the Match Champion. Bought it off my father in law and he had a leather IWB holster for it. Barrel is way to long for me to carry IWB appendix. Lol. I picked up a nice OWB holster for it and it's nice to carry in the woods for that chance I encounter an angry black bear. :ROFLMAO: And, it's just plan fun to shoot. Very accurate. That Tauras is a great revolver.

Taurus needed serious spring and massaging to make the trigger act nice for me, but I love the revolver, now.

A while back a buddy of mine picked up that Taurus GX2 9mm on sale for $199.00. It was his first hand gun and I was skeptical after hearing all the issues with it. He brought it upnorth for a weekend fishing trip and we all shot it. I was suprisingly shocked with its performance. Only problem was the shyt trigger mech. Ordered an aftermarket setup for it and made a huge improvement. Trigger mech was around $80, so not the best deal ever. Lol. Apparently the GX3 fixed the trigger issues and is around $229.00 so he should have waited! :ROFLMAO:

I buy gun springs from Wolff gun springs. They sell reduced power and extra power springs for almost everything.
My double action trigger pull went from 18 pounds to about 9 pounds by swapping springs.
A set of Hogue gripper rubber grips made the gun easier to hold with a place to put my little finger.

Are these all sub-compact cordless hole punchers that you guys are sharing, in keeping with Grizzly’s stated desire in post #1?

I’m afraid I’m gonna need pictures instead of just names, so if not your very own (blur the seial number if you don’t want to doxx your own gun) then a photo from the interwebz will do. 😊

On that note, what does a pew pew have to be to be considered sub-compact? I’m not up on the new (relatively new) nomenclature admittedly and who better to ask than a bunch of gear heads? 😂

The black revolver that WTR posted is the same frame as mine, just a different color and shoots different ammo. Mine is matte stainless (silver) I believe his is stainless steel with a fancy black coating on it. These Taurus revolvers are not subcompact. they WILL fit in a coat pocket, but a pants pocket is no good for me. I will get a pic of mine in the holster later today.

Sub-compact, Saturday Night Specials and full size are the 3 categories I’m aware of for pistol size. I wish I could afford the Kimber I mentioned earlier. I sold all my pew pew toys to family members years ago. I needed money when I was out of work. My dad then traded in my stuff so he could get new stuff. Family will screw you quicker than anyone.

Still need to get a holster. But I opted for a MK25 P226 9mm. It was a toss up between a 92FS Centurion or the P226 Elite. Didn't really like the looks of the long beaver tail of the Elite. So went with the MK25. It has different coatings to help prevent against rust. Want to get a optic cut slide for it.

Needed the extended 20rd mags for it to help with two handed shooting for me.20260321_144241.jpg
