I love the color scheme on this one! That copper and black looks real nice. I might steal that color combo for a project. Was it hand mixed and sprayed or a spray can? The copper color I mean.

I only use Rustoleum rattle cans. Appreciate the compliment.

When it can be driven? When it is painted, or just before it is picked up by the new owner?

Its finished when the original plan is accomplished. When the things you deem "necessary" are complete. Anything after that is just modification of a completed project.

With my kart. I have tons of things I want to do but it was "done" as soon as it drove safely. That was the goal. The other stuff may get done, may not.

You can even change your plan before the original plan is finished, keeping it incomplete where previously it would have been complete, had you not changed the plan.

You can even modify it in a way which renders it inoperable, its still complete and only in the process of another modification.

I’m losing count, but I think this is #18. Getting lucky finding Klipper karts.
I have one more in the queue. It’s already painted just have to put it back together. For the winter I have two motors to get back to running condition. And one kart that’s coming back to me because of rear end damage. I told the young man I would fix it for him, no charge.

#19. Trailmaster Mid XRS. Bought is for $250, sold it for $100, retails for $1,500. The young man‘s name that gets this one is appropriate, Axel.

I ”flipped” another kart - #20. (Don’t know the make). I did very little to this one. New carb., throttle cable, cleaned the gas tank, did some cleaning, nut and bolt tightening, and greasing. The young man who wanted this kart “wanted” this kart. We spent five hours today finishing his kart to he could ride it home. I bought four tires and tubes for his kart. The existing tires are holding air but are dry rotted. I told him to wear out the tires then I will replace them. He was just too excited and anxious to get his kart that he didn’t want to wait any longer. I couldn’t even get “after” pics because it was getting dark and I needed to escort them home by following them with my truck.

Kart #21 - I finished this just in time for a request to have it in time for a son’s Christmas present. New Predator, tires, and other miscellaneous touches. I couldn’t paint the chassis because I don’t have any means to paint inside a heated area. Just not possible to paint outside in the winter. A 1980s Streaker kart. I put on removable Christmas lights as part of the surprise reveal.

I am always on Marketplace looking for something I feel comfortable investing my time and money in. Every go kart has its own unique challenges that I enjoy solving. And the final payoff is seeing the smiles and hearing thank you from the kids and parents.

You didn't paint it but wanted to. I want to shy away from wanting to paint everything *just because*. If the paint is 70%+/- there it may stay and I'm going to write "original paint" and let that be a selling point. Just lube everything, service it and out the door it goes.
