5hp Briggs Flathead

Work in progress 100cc chainsaw kart engine

has a fresh rebuild on it. So much compression it's difficult to turn over.

I also have a 13hp Honda. I'll get pix when that projects in order..

Oscar no way mines 10 times louder than a gas clone. Can somone make a alcohol running briggs or a clone? That would be impresive.

why doesnt somone here run on alcohol? just go to home depot get some methanol/methyl hydrate, drill out your jets and do it. It works best on the tank on carb style briggs because of the lack of plastic or vyton parts or at least theres less than a float style carb.

Ehh... the pickup tube is plastic... does it affect the diaphrams?

How much do we drill out?

Heh, no automotive oils (that I know of) mix with Alky. You'd have to get some special karting oil, such as Red-E or so. If you're running pump gas, others will do fine.

Cool Power
Red - E
THOR
Royal Purple Racing
Briggs Racing

People have gotten 200RPM gains by using "karting" oils. "Karting" oils were made for splash type lubrication, unlike automotive oils.

1.) The Tecumsehs... 3hp 4hp, 6hp, and OHV 6hp

2.)Cast Iron 6S on a King-O-Lawn edger.

3.)B/S IC8hp. ($50 at a yard sale!!!)

4.)B/S 5hp Flatheads and a B/S Cast Iron 5S. (Too lazy to pull them out!)

5.) Lifan 90cc Flathead.

6.)B/S 2 stroke coverted for horizontal.

7.)My Spoiled Child, the Sachs SA2-290 Snowmobile motor.

8.)Blue Terror on the Lowrider.

THX. The red 5s was at an abandoned house behind mine in Mesa, the 6s-edger was $20 at a local Goodwill. I tend to jump on the Tecumsehs, because I'm a bit partial to them. The white 4hp has lots of stink to it. (People in general seem to dismiss the Tecumsehs... my gain!)
