Okay, I know this is an older thread, but I wanted to revive it because I am seriously considering building one of these for myself, regardless of the fact that I already have several "store-bought" (okay, craigslist-bought) pocketbikes. I was originally considering using the pocketbike wheels, but those things are pretty big compared to the ones recommended on the plans (90/6.5 and 110/6.5 on the regular PB wheels). I do have a spare 47cc pb engine with a centrifugal clutch and a 6th or 7th pinion, so that will probably wind up being the powerplant. The standard pb pinion and sprockets run #25 chain, I was thinking maybe doing the jackshaft setup as well for lower gearing and more torque - possibly running a 68th sprocket on the rear wheel, but not sure on the jackshaft yet. I'd like to get one of the small barrel tanks like is shown in the plans, but if all else fails, I've got a couple of spare pb tanks that I could fab a couple of brackets for mounting. And, because I have several pb's already, I also have at least a good 3/4 of the parts needed for one of these bikes - all I would really need is the materials for the frame, jackshaft, and wheels.

(Before all of this, however, I need to pick up a welding rig - might make things a bit easier!)
