what are you trying to figure out by pics? there is the tav type: http://www.shakyparts.com/comet_tav_30_torq_a_verter_kit.html

on that one, it bolts (the plate) to the motor. you don't do anything but slip the belt onto the driven, open the driven to give you slack to get the belt over your crank. then adjust the slack back to the driven. some info on the torq converters:

close ups

i know they aren't much better, but the sun is nearly down when i put my new belt on, the drive was scorching the edges, so i added a spacer. maybe it is too big, but it gets this 350lb kart going pretty good.
