Yeah, that'd be it, well spotted...

I have a couple of ideas in mind for the brakes, not sure yet though. If my ideas don't work out I have a friend who is brilliant with these "difficult" things - might cost a few beers but it will be worth it!

I can tell you that the hole at the end of the stock mounting bracket is where the axle goes...

You'l need to cut down the stock bracket, fab a mounting bracket on the frame somewhere &, somehow, join the two. My setup was made more difficult because of the floating axle so, it had to be mounted to the axle bearing mount but, with a fixed axle, you won't have that problem...

Have a look at my setup for inspiration, if nothing else...

Thanks for the heads up!

Shouldn't be too difficult (fingers crossed) Now I know who to ask if I have any questions!!

By the way, I stuffed up when I mentioned the gear ratio - It is 7.5:1 not 9:1. For some stupid reason I used 10 for the clutch sprocket, it has 12 teeth which I knew already.........

Cheers

Here's another update:

Only a few small things left on the "to do list"

Pedals ( half completed ) & connect linkages
Heat shield behind seat
Fit drive chains and rollers
Fit Fuel Tank
Sheet metal for partial floor.

Unfortunately my working time was cut short today when a massive storm rolled in so I had to quickly pack my toys up and put my Wife's car back in the garage.

The joys of living in Queensland this time of year......

Excuse all the stuff in the photo, I assure you the kart is there if you look hard enough!

Thanks Matt, Looking forward to seeing yours - I love anything Victa powered!

I love your jackshaft setup. That thing looks bomb proof!

Haha, yeah it's pretty sturdy. I only shortened the shaft and mounting bracket, basically it's exactly as it came from the ride on, with new bearings & paint. At least I will have something to use as a tow point if I get bogged :lolgoku:

Oh you think that was bad, what about the storm that hit Sydney on Friday. Lightening hit a railway signal box, throwing the whole rail network into chaos & it also closed the airport for three hours... & guess where I was; yep, at the airport waiting for a flight to Queensland. My 4pm flight FINALLY left the ground at 7:40!

Sorry 'bout the hijack ('scuse the pun...)

I HATE my flights being delayed. It messes up all your plans....

Geez, that does make our storm sound tame... I heard about it but didn't know it was that severe.

I know how you feel with the delayed flight, I've had it happen on several occasions - Really annoying!!

I like the "hijack" line:lolgoku:

Oh, forgot the pic...

It doesn't show the full force of the storm but, you get the idea; the pic was taken at 4:45pm

You need to upload vids to a third party site (like youtube) & post a link here...

Also, it's always a good idea to post a link to a referenced thread :)

Click the Edit button to find out how I did that ;)

Thanks for the tip about uploading videos, I was going to ask this question in the near future.

Cheers
