Here is a bunch a pics my of our home my wife is building in the Philippines. Although the wife and I are not there doing to work. It's still a big part of our life. The wifes family home is right across the street. We bought this property about 5 years ago. We then built the smaller unit for vacation home. Since then we decided to do a add on and make it much bigger with view to Masinloc Bay. We were strict about not cutting any of the trees. We wanted it like a jungle look. Also wanted it super secure being American and all. There is no kidnapping in this area but it is not out of the picture. This is on the Island of Luzon in the northern part of the Philippines. The problem parts on southern Muslims for the most part.
The Philippines have 7,100 islands or so that make up the country. Are house is about 3 hours from Manila driving time. Masinloc bay is protected area so wild life is great. Super cool reefs that are making full recovery from TNT fishing. The cities in the Phillipines I do not care for. But out in the provance is very relaxing.
My hats off to these workers. The work bare feet in super hot weather for pennies on the $ compared to the USA. Primitive tools as you can see. It's amazing what one Filipino can do with a machete. Total cost for complete rebuild is little under $5000 not including breakfast and lunch daily for the workers. Little over a month to do the work. Should be done next week.
Lots of pic and sorry for that. But thought it would be cool to show what we do with are other time. My wife spends about 2 months a year in the Philippines. I spend one month every few years. Never met more friendly people in my life each time I go. It’s the land of smiles for sure. Even though most of them are going thru hell poverty. This is something you would never see where I live.
What I like about the Philippines the most? Nobody is in a hurry.
The first few pics show the pad before we started the add on. Also the sister house next door right on the bay. I got more pics of that later.
