He's probably got one. For sure can build one.

Flyinhillbilly, not that I'm qualified to judge your work. But it shore looks beautiful.

Researching the late Mr.Thompson., hard to believe he's been gone for almost 12 years. I always meant to read one of his books. Had no idea he had so many. Any recommendations?

The great shark hunt books were a couple of my favorites. A lot of his writing is archived at the rolling stone website, lots of good reading there. Gonzo is a great book about Hunter and his life with input from a lot of people who knew him well. There was a lot more to that guy than petty vandalism and psychedelics. I'm a Thompson fan because of his philosophies and outlook on life in general. I'd be lying if I said it wasn't the other side of him that drew me in though. I once spent 28 days "taking the ride" never again (for that long anyway).
Thank you for the compliment on my work, I try hard to do the best that I can with what I have to work with. It means a lot when people acknowledge all the time and money spent learing these things. Now I just need to figure out how to make more money, lol.

I took a ride at a Sammy Hagar concert in the 80's. No Mas. Thanks for the heads up on Rolling Stone. For sure lots of good stuff.

I hope you can make mucho denaro. But too I hope you're able to share your skills and talent with others that will appreciate it.

So you like drag racing huh?
How's this?
525 Keith black BB Chrysler all aluminum. Indy heads(non hemi) Blowing pure alcohol from a 1471.
Special built 727. Only one I've ever heard of keeping 1200hp to it for over 15 years.
We run all over the southwest at 7.6 index quarters. Unfortunately the tracks don't like the high insurance and make us run eights. That's a 4.6 index then.

Nah, it was a clock I bought at the track. I had to dive under a truck when Larry Dixon blew over backwards on the big end in Memphis several years ago. I was standing at the fence at the finish line, and it is unbelievable to see a front wheel, just the front wheel and tire mind you, take out about 70 feet of chain link fence. I was I the hot zone for that one.

I've been to "the big show" once. Phoenix. It must have been a great day cause not one mishap. It was something like no other. It literally takes your breath. I so wanted to stand on the line when they launch. We were to busy trying to buy tires. They use them once or twice and we can get a couple seasons from them after that.

Like night and day stepping up to nitro.
We got a guy in the club dabbling... Slowly.$$$$$$

I have a rod like that from a funny car. Also the 5.0 coyote has gone 8s with a stock engine and a stock transmission so not much fun to be had there. Lol. There a truly impressive engine to me when you start with 300cu and make that much with factory parts.

I'll somewhat agree with ya j5 on the coyote. It is impressive what that do with that little engine, but it's hard to get more out of it. The block is so thin, gussets everywhere. I just wasn't that impressed. The one I rebuilt had some metal go through it. Couldn't find anything broke though. Oil pump was toast and all the crank bearings were scarred bad.
After removing the rods the crank spun but you had to ummph. Taking the center caps off and just the outers still holding the crank was impossible to spin. After releasing the last two caps, spinning the crank looked like a jump rope.
New crank in and it was ok. Didn't hurt the block.
But the part I was less than thrilled was the casting. I spent a good 3 or 4 hours on the block de-burring the cast to machine surfaces. They would flake if you touched it with your finger. I think that's what went through it. Bad quality control.
Everything in it felt fragile.
I'm not 100% but most of what I read and was also told by fomoco that don't do any more " hopping up", it can't take much more. They built it to its max.

Sorry I'm a Mopar guy. I wasn't impressed.

I think that Coyote was made for Yuppies to drop into their Mustang and go fast er.

Not at all the serious engine you guys would build for a real race car.

It's okay. I'm a ford person so I am biased to fords. That being said it's too bad that mopar, made the performance world for dodge to be so lonely. Without Indy heads edelbrock and dr. J air wolf heads the sbm would be pretty hard to build power. I'm glad they finally did something with the 318s too. Most people hate em, but with a stroker kit and heads they can really perform now. Its a shame that the tuning world for dodge isn't good like ford. Sct really is amazing in that it gives you full control over your engine and trans and all you have to do is plug it into the obd II port. Chevy guys have efi live and hp tuners but like most mopar stuff dodge is left behind. Now guys are wiring efi live into dodges to have tuning but it's not a simple plug and play. I'd be happy that efi source decided to make a hemi mega squirt 3 plug and play unit at a fair price. Seeing multiple people using the coyote to make tons of power, I'm not worried the least with going that route someday. Also ford made a ton of good transmissions over the years and even Chevy, while mopar has the worst in almost all types of vehicles. I still like all things that make HP and how they make it. Nice rail too.

We have a new hemi out of a truck under the table. The idea was to make a monster out of it but the head studs are tiny and there not many of them. I don't think it could handle a large hp build. The bottom end looks nice with 4 bolt mains but the heads are the weak point in the new hemi.
I'm not much into the newer stuff amd all the electronics. Gimme a mag and enderle fuel injection!

The rail is dads. I have been crew for 2 years now and had to learn a lot real quick. I still have to get an NHRA license to race at the tracks though. Another thing on my to do list.
