Yea i've used that before, but im pretty cheap, and my o-ring chain on my dirtbike doesnt collect that much dust, most of the oil gets thrown off except the stuff the o-rings held in.

And the PB blaster wont do much as far as lubricate, maybe if you wanted to clean it with PB blaster than lube it with oil, but the PB blaster wont do anything besides de-lube your chain.

i use pb blaster because the exhaust is going on my chain and making dust stick to it. so i need to clean it often. i'll start using oil though.

I use bearing grease and a toothbrush. This is on a non-o-ring chain. Brush the grease in really good (on all sides of the chain) to get it into the rollers. I have used this method for over 20+ years on all forms of chain driven machines. You would be amazed at how much a poorly maintained chain can affect your horse power to the wheels. It really can make your motor work much harder.

Boiling? What, literally drop the whole chain in a vat of boiling oil? Does this help? I'm really curious! And why used oil?

When you're done, do you pour the oil over the castle wall onto the attackers below?

Yes boiling oil creeps all the oil into all the litte nooks and crannys. On the downside motor oil attracts dirt like theres no tommorrow. Even my electric scooter chain is filthy now.

Very carefully insert a coffee can full of used motor oil and the chain into campfire coal bed, bring to boil, boil half hour. I pour it back into the jug form which it came, makes great chain and bar oil for chainsaws.

Y'know, I never would've guessed. I've used old motor oil for case-hardening, but never thought of it as a lubricant. Cool! Thanks, folks!
