I got this trolling motor for free.....
Now...it's missing the deck mounting hardware....so....I could pursue making one....HOWEVER.....here's another outside of the box idea.....
A small boat...powered by a lawnmower battery.....with a rudder and a line release controlled by servos from a cheapy Radio Shack vehicle......
So....basically...the motor would be locked straight...with a servo controlled rudder....to basically keep it in a generally straight line....and guide it to either a baited hole....or a good structure area.....at which point...the second servo would release the fishing line being towed out.....
Just for safety and simplicity sake...the boat would be attached to a deep spool reel and be reeled back......that way...a dead battery is no problem.....
The big advantage of this is ....using live bait like whole bluegill....you might be able to chunk em way out there....but the spank they take when they get there....either takes a lot out of them....or kills em.....
