This same bill is killing handmade toy companies. It is also hurting the BMX industry, since it defines any bicycle with 24" or smaller wheels as a toy. So would you define this as a toy?

really, anything you do in life has some sort of element of danger in it. (don't think so? try me, ill tell you how its dangerous lol)

When I was younger, probably between the ages of 6 and 13, I used to play with lead and mercury, not knowing they were dangerous. Anyone remember those LA Lights shoes with the flashing lights in the back? The first ones that came out had a mercury switch in them. I found that out and I would purposely collect them and break them open, just to collect the mercury in a small Gerber baby food bottle.

I also used to take apart old phones that had a piece of lead in them to make them heavier than they would be otherwise. I thought it was such a strange metal in that it was so heavy but so soft.

Look at me now, I turned out alright. But then again, I never put anything in my mouth... Ha ha

But seriously I think there trying to get rid of the bikes that are targeted to the youth and younger like 8-12. It seems all the bikes have traces of lead in these parts but whats the difference if the little kid goes up to his dads 450 and suck the valve stem, Batt terminals and so on? I think its all BS and all the treehuggers/leadologist should get a life. Its realy impacting the youngsters with the 50's just learning to race!
