Naturally, re-jetting will only help if your mix is off. If it's already ideal, then it's already ideal.
You could shop for a highly tuneable Mikuni-style slide carb, but setting it up and jetting it may prove to be a PITA. On the other hand, I don't know what your carb is capable of.
More than likely, your carb is sufficient, and not the engine's limiting factor. Once you get to a certain point with performance mods to the engine, you may need a bigger/better carb. For now, I'd just work on getting it clean and running correctly.
