It moves very freely, but will not pump fluid. Filled it last night with the wrong fluid (didn't know any better at the time) but it appears to have drained out. Filled it tonight with the correct dot 5 but it just won't pump fluid. What do you suppose could be causing this?

Lines are disconnected from master cyl. Plug is in. I can pump all day and, at best, a few drops will piddle out.

My racekarts have Enginetics master cylinders like yours and I had the same problem. You probably just need to powerbleed to force the brake fluid past the airlock. Racekart shops sell exspencive powerbleeders, but I made my own for free.

I just use a (clean) nipple-cap from a gear lube bottle like this:

Screw that cap onto your plastic brake fluid bottle. The threads always seem a bit loose, so I instal a hose clamp around the cap and tighten it a bit so the cap makes a good seal.

Now all you have to do is tilt the bottle upside down, stick it firmly into the master cylinder reservoir-fill hole, and squeeze the bottle. You dont have to push or pump the brake pedal at all. Just squeeze the bottle, you can bench-bleed just the master cylinder, or power bleed your whole system this way.
