new to go kart engines; my engine not starting

I'm having trouble trying to start my gx200 engine, and I'm not to sure what the problem is, but I'm suspecting that fuel is not reaching through this line if I'm not mistaken.

Off hand its hard to tell... but is there a fitting with a hose to the block or valve cover from the pump???

Is it necessary to have the pulse pump system? Otherwise the original gravity fed system will probably work better.

the hose is linking to the carb if that's what u meant

When i got the kart, the engine came like that

No... It needs to be "driven" by the engine.
This is a pulse pump. It requires the air movement from within the engine to act upon the pump to push fuel to the carb...
But a better question is... Where/what is it being used on? Is the tank higher than the motor or not?

its sitting at the steering wheel so its a bit lower than the motor. I also have another question, i have a hard time starting the engine, i managed to get it to fire one pop but stoped right after. i cleaned the carb jets but still doesnt pull a strong mist of fuel out when i crank it. im hoping its not my compression as it fire one pop right?The engine hasnt been started in 2 years aswell.

Ok WAIT. A lesson on the basics of a pulse pump is needed.
You have 3 barbs on the pump. one is an INLET, one is an OUTLET, and one is a PULSE line.
The inlet needs to be connected to your fuel tank, the outlet needs to be connected to the carburetor, and the pulse line needs to be connected to a fitting in the valve cover.
I can't see the pulse barb on your pump, maybe some more pics would help. Also, your inlet is detached.....

Come to think of it, it looks like your pulse pump is missing the top piece! No wonder it won't work!

Let's see what it's going onto(kart, minibike, attach pics please!). My advice is to ditch that setup and go back to gravity feed to make things simpler for yourself.
