Been thinking about modifications.
It came to me that as I have referenced the two men most associated with the Indy Roadsters I should examine their techniques.
AJ Watson improved on Frank Kurtis' design with great success so I've decided to apply one of his modifications to the SuperDeluxe Tubafor Special.
Got out the hole saw, gonna Swiss cheese it to save weight.
Lighter is faster.
This thing ought to go like greased lightning.....or greased something, anyway.

Should really help.....my 1980 f150 had a swiss cheese frame....no problem! !!!
You might want to cover those holes with tissue paper though....(wind resistance and all....)

Use some Elmers white school glue, and call it fiber reinforced.....

My Mom was an English teacher back in the dark ages when you actually learned penmanship and the proper use of the English language.
In the attic is a box of some her stuff including carbon paper.
I'm thinking a papier-mâché mix of it and some mushed up Fiber One cereal with the afore-mentioned Elmer's glue.... Carbon-Fiber!
Just as strong and much cheaper.

Not one of those Thermolene N-Propyl-Nitrate fueled Turbonique's that blows up and makes you dead but perfectly safe Hydrogen Peroxide powered...and I have a few bottles in the medicine cabinet.
May require a little reworking of the frame, but I figure the carbon paper fiber reinforcing should be up to the task.
Probably have to step all the way up to the $20 HF wheels, though.

Ya know if you really want to make it unique mount a fan to the back with belt drive. 4 wheels free rollin and then.............

Hmmm.... I remember seeing an article years ago with a motor like the one I showed and a prop mounted behind it.....you may be onto something.

I doubt it....you're trying to impress Tihm....I know you're using fingers and toes....and anything else.....which means you can only count to 20 and 1/2......

No, no, Doug; even as just a manual machinist, Jim knows that you count your fingers once, then the nails. Same with the toes. That will get them well over twenty. As for counting the twins? I've had to deal with too many of these manual only types who couldn't do the count and get the same number twice...

Ok, so my dreams of the ACME Tubafor Jet Deathmobile ended up in a pile of termite ashes.
I decided to go back to metal but wanted to keep some of the superspecialocity of wood.

Get some really good big rear view mirrors.....the prop is going to turn the wrong way......other than that.....just like the rest of this build FLAWLESS! !!!
EDIT: OH wait.....I think it is oriented the right way.....excuse me.....I was vacationing outside the planet....(planet Calbudgie)....and just got back.....it was FAR out man......

Ya know, I was in awe of the engineering and finesse, but now I am astounded at the sheer intelligence and thinkaheaditiveness! Not only will this be the coolest kart ever, he's going to pay for its fuel by offering a high speed leaf blowing service. A self-sufficient kart, and a role model for us all.
