Well I found a pocket rocket complete minus engine for $35 on the beloved craigslist and just happened to have a 5 hp flatty sitting around. Now don't be too critical as this is my first custom job and still alot left to do but this is where I am at right now.

NICE! That thing is gonna HAUL ***! Your gonna have to get a new #35 sprocket for the jackshaft. Just gotta get the engine bolted in and rework the rear suspension, may i sugest using bicycle rear end shocks? The new part of the frame needs more welding.

Yeah I am actually going to weld some 1/8 to both sides of all connects. I have the original shock that was on the rear looks just like the link you sent. I have the front and rear disc brake set up and the tires still have the lil nobbies on them. The bod is the only thing I am missing. I will, weather permitting have more updates by Monday.

May I also suggest you try doing something about that exhaust system if you arent already planning to have it exit at the rear.

Yeah luckily there is plenty of room to route it up and out the back but thanks for the suggestions so far I'm glad to see I might be on the right track.

What was that bike before you started doing the mod? I know a couple of guys on pocketbikeplanet did a Honda 5.5hp mod with a Cateye pocketbike frame. Apparently the Cateye is a perfect engine swap candidate for these engines, as you can almost drop the motor right in with no mods except for the clutch and chain setup.

It was a cateye but it had a hard slant on the frame that the fuel tank wouldnt even clear. You can see the amount of frame I removed in the first pic.

The honda 5.5 has a pretty heavily slanted jug.

Yeah I haven't updated lately but I am getting close. I know the #25 chain may not last long but for the time I am using it. What I did was I chopped the jackshaft in half and welded a #41 sprocket to one half so now the engine to jackshaft will be #41 and jackshaft to wheel is #25. I still need to bolt the engine and route the exhaust but I am hopeful to test drive it this weekend. Once I test it I will tear it all back down and do alot of clean up and paint it. Anyways let me know what you guys think.

Well either this chain isnt #25 or the guy sent me the wrong master link. It's way too small for this chain. Hopefully I can press the old link back in.
