Hello all, just purchased a used kart for a singular purpose.
Bear with me now. I have an 18 degree grass yard that I need to mow. No riding lawn mower will work.
I use to race go karts many years ago and thought the low gravity of a go kart would stick to the hill towing a push mower behind.
I know weird.
So I plan on building a kart that will go a cross a lawn and then climb to go the other direction.
So looking for info on gear ratios and how to install a jackshaft to get the torque I need. Also size of engine to make all this happen.

Post some pictures of the kart and we'll go from there. If your using it purely for utility put a predator 212 on it.

GW not enough information for a recommendation yet on engine size. Relax buddy.
Flygirl if we could get a picture of the yard (hill) approx weight of kart, tire size and type, lawnmower type (pull behind ATV type). We could help you out with more information. Start a thread! We love this type of stuff! And !

Just purchased 2 coleman197 karts and looking to get them lifted a bit higher and really want to add bigger tires which seems dam near impossible! Me and my so are also going to swap the stock engine for a Preditor ghost.

That's not weird at all, you can add two cheap mowers side by side with hinges, and then a 3rd behind so the all float. You can do 48 inches with cheap mowers.
Google diy Tow behind mowers.

Only downside I see is learning to mow and not tear up yard with a live axle, wide corners etc.

This should be a fun project.
