Hello,
It all started when I found a cart frame in the dumpster. I threw it in the back of my truck and brought it home. I had plans of building an electric cart with my boys then a friend of mine gave me a brand new 5.5hp B&S. I was looking at parts I would need, as there is no way to get the power to the wheels. The cart was missing the back wheels so I have no sprocket nor do I have a clutch. While looking on Craigslist I came across an old school aluminum cart that was all there except the motor was bad...PERFECT!! I picked it up for a song and now I think I will put the motor on that cart as is is much cooler and has a solid axle. The guy, in his 30's, said he rode this thing when he was about 10, so it is old. It has rack and pinion steering and is a very nice, lightweight cart. Can anyone give me any info on what it is? Under the steering column there is a foil sticker but all the text is worn off. There is a serial number still stamped in.
One of the back wheels would not come off, as the aluminum has stuck pretty good to the steel and so at some point in its life someone tried really hard, with no luck and eventually cut the tire off I think. I've got all the bits soaking in PB Blaster right now.
The red cart is the dumpster cart with my new motor mounted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I still want to do an electric one also. :)

I am looking to sell it. The next owner can put the correct tires on it, and a motor. :)
Drop me a line if you are interested.

hmm... you realize, put some wheels on it, and buy an old restored engine (or a good new engine) and you can get more.

for example... trying to sell a frame thats old and missing alot will get you a fraction of what youll get with it complete.

***opelenvy***That sure was a very sweet find indeed! I sure did have a lot of fun driving go-karts with my daughter many years ago....we went to a go-kart track exclusively for that sort of thing....I am new here, and new to the sport, and do not have my toy as of yet....but I can tell you that the people here are really great, and if you post it in the appropriate place (suggested by toystory_4wd), you should have a lot of fun!....SushiDog

Sushidog,
Thanks. I did post it in the classifieds as well. I just figured I would post the conclusion to this thread. I am sorry if I offended anyone by posting in the wrong area.

No offense taken. Just weren't sure if you were aware of our ad section.
That's a good little kart you scored. Be sure to keep us in the loop on your progress!
