Hello,
It all started when I found a cart frame in the dumpster. I threw it in the back of my truck and brought it home. I had plans of building an electric cart with my boys then a friend of mine gave me a brand new 5.5hp B&S. I was looking at parts I would need, as there is no way to get the power to the wheels. The cart was missing the back wheels so I have no sprocket nor do I have a clutch. While looking on Craigslist I came across an old school aluminum cart that was all there except the motor was bad...PERFECT!! I picked it up for a song and now I think I will put the motor on that cart as is is much cooler and has a solid axle. The guy, in his 30's, said he rode this thing when he was about 10, so it is old. It has rack and pinion steering and is a very nice, lightweight cart. Can anyone give me any info on what it is? Under the steering column there is a foil sticker but all the text is worn off. There is a serial number still stamped in.
One of the back wheels would not come off, as the aluminum has stuck pretty good to the steel and so at some point in its life someone tried really hard, with no luck and eventually cut the tire off I think. I've got all the bits soaking in PB Blaster right now.
The red cart is the dumpster cart with my new motor mounted.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I still want to do an electric one also.
