They bought it from BMI!:mad2::sarcasm:

GoPowersports is in business to sell gokarts and gokart parts. Both Grant (KartFab) ...and Dennis (Orange Krate) are nearby and involved in business with them.

I'm sure it will be available for sale shortly...if not already.

Actually GoPowerSports.com is now working on putting together this kit.
Right now we don't know what the cost is going to be, we have to build a few first to see what it is going to cost us to put the kits together.

You mean from Smokey and the Bandit, right?

Our's is coming along! I'm not as fast a builder as Taylor (cause I don't have as fancy a welding table;) May not end up a Bandit clone now. We started thinking since it's a kit kart that it might just be a KITT Kart. Then again, we might go in a totally different direction...

I know all this but thanks. I was basically remarking on whether these were commercially available to all of us "peon" consumers; i.e. those not in the "in crowd".

But I see you lambasted me then justified me in one post. That's amazing.

Apologies for the necro-reply.

NICE to see someone making a good kit other than the Azusa :wai:

Being based on the old American Express is even better, IMO, as I really like that design.

Two areas I've found that could use improvement on the Amex from running and modding the two my boys have is

1) Mounting a Predator engine to the Amex.

The relationship of the seat back angle, rear axle position and engine mounting plate location, makes it very difficult to mount a Predator engine and have range of adjustment needed to adjust chain. Especially so if you want / need to swap out rear sprockets for different gearing ratios. I've cut off and rewelded the mount plates twice on both karts trying to find the perfect spot.

It looks like you guys have addressed this somewhat with the longer engine mounting plate and farther rearward location of the rear axle? Were these changes from the Amex design an intentional attempt to address this issue?

Your pic below shows what I'm talking about.

2) The steering support bars are, IMO, too wide on the Amex. Depending on the rider's size and seat position, the driver's legs lay or contact the down tubes at the inner thigh.

IMO, the narrower downtubes on the larger Dingo were better design and would be a marked change to your kit.

In the pic below, look at the karts on the shelf in the background. Both the black and gold karts have the wide spread on the steering support and the orange one in the middle (not an Amex) has much narrower spread.

Eddie's pic below shows the Amex beside the large version of the Dingo, where you can see both styles of steering supports.

That's the main reason mine has narrow bars...

Usually I would agree. But on that little kart, 30 Pounds of motor?
Nah I'll take that 212 over the 420.

I guess, long as it can move you quite well, why go bigger? Wish someone made iron blocks for them and then you could easily bore it out more.

OMG! I just looked at the Comments and FR15(Pred 211) posted "Challenge Accepted"

Calm down there, mang. Cool your jets. He's no celebrity, at least not to me.

And 60 MPH? Meh. Still nothing to go ballistic over and it's just a wild claim with no real authentication.
