Hello, a little about myself...... my name is Jordon, 26 yrs old. I live in alberta Canada, I am a automotive mechanic.
Last year I purchased 2 Azuza Fun karts with the larger 14" tall tires and added length to the frames to fit adults . I am running a stock 6.5hp Honda clone and #35 chain, 12 tooth clutch and 72 sprocket. The karts work great other than the chain coming off every so often. the karts do about 40 kph.
So my question is ,, how do I make it faster ? I really don't have money to start modifying the Honda clone with a better rod and flywheel and carbs and all that stuff, Id rather keep the motors fairly stock and reliable, and maybe adjust the governor/take out the throttle stop for a few more rpms, in the 4500 range im guessing. I want to get a #40/41 chain tav2 torque converter and a 60 tooth sprocket. Ultimately I want to get the karts to go around 70+ kph while still having alright power off the line.
Im looking for anybody's suggestions on the best way to do this. thanks
