Hello everyone, after many years I finally decided to get not one but 2 project go karts! One is a murray explorer frame, the second is a yellow jacket. Not too sure about the info on the second one, if anyone knows the model please chime in so I can find parts for it as it is in need of tie rods and spindles. I haven’t decided which one to tackle first but I plan on building a backyard race kart to compete with some buddies. I’m from northeast Texas, Thanks everyone in advance.

Well you be havin fun...
l'm useless when it comes to karts. I'm just here to cause chaos, but one of our experts will be with you shortly. In the meantime if you resize your pics to 5mb or less you can have your pics in all their glory, notjust icons.
oh and Welcome!

These are good old fashioned ‘murican fun karts and to your great relief there are basically slim to no replacement parts available since the domestic fun kart industry went belly up in about 2005. Lucky for you, the parts (more or less) are generic unless it is really something specialized like a genuine factory seat cushion with a logo on it. Lots of reproduction parts are available from the major vendors....

I’d start on the Yellowjacket kart first, since it looks complete.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll have to figure out how to resize them lol

It’s not a big deal, your photos just open in another window in their super large glory. Some here may find it objectionable because it requires an extra click, a close and a click back to the forum.

I believe the manufacturer was called Avenger Mfg. You will see some calling it a Manco Yellow Jacket, and that may be technically true but only because Manco purchased Yellow Jacket (or Avenger) in the late 1990s (allegedly) and discontinued the brand.

Yours has a Predator 212 Hemi which is a nice score and already in your hands. I’m heartbroken that you can no longer “buy a Hemi” by the stock number 60363 specification; they’re (Hemi/non-Hemi) all in the same box with the same stock number so it’s luck of the draw. Blah blah blahh…

True no big deal. Not objectionable, annoying or anything else. Just an educational point of interesting stuff. If ya ever wondered why that happens? Well, there ya have it.
Yer Welcome!
