Hi everyone. I'm Ted. Mastercrafter.
20 years as a woodworker, cabinet builder.
Had a cpl carts as a child, now at 40 I'm rediscovering the fun and learning a few new things like welding.
I live in the Paulding, Douglasville, GA area and would like to know of a thread, or anyone that knows where to ride around here.
Not a race cart. Just a cpl homebuilt neighborhood runners. Ones kinda loud and I need a parking lot or some place paved to mess around on. And would like to meet a few people that screwed around with them also.

:welcome2: To the forum Ted. Hey in Canada we have tools called Mastercraft AKA Mastercrap that sell at a wonderful store called Canadian Tire. You must of designed and made all of them (that's why they always break) Now it makes sense ;) Thanks

No it's actually because I have 21 years in the cabinetry, woodworking industry and am an accomplished mastercraftsman.
But it's nice to know I joined a ball busting forum aye!!
Not my fault you buy crap. Buy cheap, buy twice. I'll buy once, thank you.

Sure does suck when you break a tool and have to quit working and go to the store for a replacement:2guns:

How do I post pics? It wants http instead of just letting me upload images straight from phone.

I knew a guy that used to put a hurtin' on craftsman tools.
He'd bust a hammer, and take them the handle. They'd ask, where's the head?
He'd tell them it was down in a stem wall filled with cement. New hammer.
A week later, he'd take in the head. New hammer.

Little project Rat kart. Ugly but fun as ****. 52 mph 4 inches off the ground is too much fun.
The little blue one is something for my grandkids. Little more tame. Still governed
Just getting into karts again. Don't really think I'll ever be into the race karts. For me they're too small. I like the idea of building a few larger adult sized carts for running subdivisions and some parking lots.
Like a scorpion. Something with larger engines.

Big block? I didn't know they existed for carts..?
Im actually looking a some used 3 cylinders from geo Metro.
250 off the shelf at the local junk yard.
Cheap engine should provide plenty of power and locally replaceable.

Mastercrafter, have you already tried posting wanted ads in your local craigslist?

That worked out good for me, I got replies that hooked me up with 2 different spots my locals got together to ride/race their karts without the cops showing up.

Craigslist doesn't have dedicated go kart section, so most folks end up posting & doing searches both in the motorcycle & RV sections.

I've thought of CL. Didn't really have an idea about hot to go about it. For your mentioned reason.
Thank you for the idea. I'll try that now. Can't hurt.

Yeah don't let anyone here get to you. I'm pretty new as well but this forum is awesome and everyone seems pretty cool. Nice karts by the way! 52mph is pretty wicked! Be careful lol

So to your power needs.
Big Block engines.

Look at gx 420 or clones. I think they start at about 300cc and go up from there.

They are bigger and have a different mounting base and output shaft. 1" as opposed to 3/4".

But big toys equal big bux.
