so i started posting a couple pics of it on my other build thread for those watching that one you have already seen it and know what my plans are for it . i was going to try to stay super low budget on this one and not have a bunch of time wrapped up in it but today i realized thats not going to happen. so i figured it needs a thread all to itself.

i bought this turd a few days ago just as it is in the pics . some type of beefy go cart frame with a suzuki lt 250 front end and rear end booger welded onto it . it has a honda 10 hp engine that runs good ( pull string is lookin kinda rough though), a comet 2 clutch and torque converter, its pretty much all there except the belt and a kill switch.

my plan as of now ( i change my mind constantly) is to stretch the frame 10" , cut off the front end and re-attach it how it should be and tie the tubing from the atv front into the go cart frame and build a roll cage into it . i plan on making a swing arm rear suspension with some type of soft coil overs . i do plan on trading out the 10 hp for something with more balls, probably a motorcycle engine or something along the lines of that. being as i already have a cart thats about as offroad capable as can be i think i am going in the direction of like a scaled down dune buggy type thing ?

any ideas and input is greatly appreciated . ok so enough with the talky , heres what i have as of now.

scored some brand new paddle tires for the rear today:wai:

oh and btw , i know this is going to disappoint you guys but......:eek:the pretty pink paint has to go bye bye:eek:

That little buggy has a of of potential- I like it!

*cough* ...bike engine... *cough*

yea thats what i thought when i first looked at it, got the wheels turnin in my head :idea2:. the tubing on the cart frame is really beefy , looks like 2". with some good cage work and if the front end is mounted right this frame could hold up to some serious power. if i can get ahold of a bike motor and trans on the cheap them paddles will be howlin at 100 mph!:auto:

good lookin machine you got. yea im thinking on using the rear axle from a newer atv with a swing arm rear suspension already on it so i don't have to make one. i was pondering independent rear but thats more work and money than i want to put into this cart. i might be looking at a 1100cc yamaha shaft drive motor and trans here soon and if i end up getting that i will probly narrow down a ford 9" and 4 link it. that would be f'n sweet:D

haha i just looked up the specs on it , 100 hp / 60 tq . it would surely get down the road, maybe even pick up the front end if the tires could get a good bite . nothings set in stone yet but that would really be fun to play with.

1100cc with 100HP + paddles in the sand + 3rd gear = HUGE rooster tail! I like the sound of it.

just an update on this thing, im still waiting on the guy with the 1100 so until i figure out whats goin on with that thing i am supposed to be buying a 84 honda 110 3 wheeler tonight with the 4 spd hi/low trans , i know a 110 is a far cry from an 1100 , but the price is right and it will supply me with everything i need for the rear suspension , the parts to finish the 4 wheel brakes , and a motor and trans with plenty of gear choices to play around on for now .

and if i like it enough with that motor/trans combo im sure i could find plenty of aftermarket parts for that motor to make it beat feet

I think BigHead knows his way around those ATC110's pretty well. He might be able to help you out a lot with that thing.

ok so i couldn't get ahold of my buddy with the 110 last night to buy so i bought something a little better to use as a donor for the paddle cart for the time being , wouldn't you know as soon as i bought this new donor atv i got the call from my friend askin if i was comin up to buy the honda 110 :censored: . i think i might buy it within the next week or so , im sure i could find something cool to make out of it.

ill post some pics of the new donor quad tonight before i tear it apart.

i bought it for 300$. 150cc , 1 forward speed and 1 reverse, hydraulic disc rear brake and drum front, electric start, new battery , tail light , brake light , horn , hi/low beam headlight all work, decent maxxis tires , nice soft suspension, speedometer works. i figure it will make a perfect donor for the paddle tire cart for now so i can get back on track and finish the monster cart. what you guys think??

it will just be a temporary fix till i figure out whats goin on with the 1100cc i want or find a donor motorcycle . i was considering trying to mate the 150cc motor ( seems to have some get up) to the 4 spd hi/low trans from the 110 honda.
