Well, I marked 1 for you, cut it for you, got busy helping the neighbor with a downed tree. Now I've lost the freaking thing!!!!!!!!!
Here's a pic of the quik & dirty marks to cut. You get how it works. If you need pics of the cuts, i can make another tomorrow.

Quik & Dirty.....uhmmm??? Brings back memories of some old girlfriends. 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

Thanks man.

Well, here's my new used project. Tires seem to be good, frame seems solid. Obviously it's missing some bolts for the top, no biggie. The seat back is a gonner. Rotted and nasty. The bottom isn't much better and it's not attached. I haven't taken the chain off and honestly I can't right now. I can't get a impact between the driven and tire and I don't have any sockets big enough to take that mammoth 20" rear wheel off. I could have found the master link but didn't feel like looking for it. I'm guessing this is probably a 72/12 sprocket combo, maybe a 72/10. I can't find any markings on the rear sprocket but I'll find out for sure soon enough.

When I got there the belt was missing from the torque converter. Along with the other issues I immediately dropped my price to $300 and he accepted. When I got it home I pulled the drive side off and could tell something was missing. The huge spacer that aligns the driven wasn't there and the little brass ring that the belt slides on was missing. Luckily I had the parts readily available (borrowed from the other cart) and a belt that previously didn't have a hole so I anxiously popped them on and crunk it up.

The motor does turn over on the first pull but as soon as it warms up it'll shut off. I made it about 2 or 3 laps around my house before it shut off. I was fairly impressed with how it rode...until it didn't. After pushing it back, I realized the oil sensor was still on, so I disconnected that, fired it up and tried again. I didn't make it very far before it shut off again.

I'm done for the night. I need to figure out where this big girl is going to sleep. She's much bigger than the other one. I'll tinker more with it this week and/or weekend.

For a Quick & Dirty fix, again old girl friends, BTW they where twins and the only way I could tell em apart, was 1 had a thicker mustache then the other, 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Yank the carb and tank off the new engine, tank won't mount cause 1 is hemi, 1 is non hemi. get a long piece of fuel hose, a fuel filter would be nice too. Mount tank to rack with ratchet straps. And boogie woogie.

Nice score!!!!! Dam good price.

Get a socket that big! Pancho told me that will alleviate lots of pain and suffering. Mines on the way now, I ordered from the jungle store because I won’t get to the hardware store. Just measure the nut from end to end and get the socket that size. Great deal, that kart will last a long time, just DO NOT jump it. It has primitive suspension so no jumps if you can help it.

OK, I guess I'm not taking the easy road on this one either. I'll pull the tank, drain, and clean it and replace the carb. Hopefully that's all it needs. Will I see much improvement in an aftermarket exhaust and air filter?
Please don't waste you time on that useless crap. Spend your hard earned money that will actually improve performance, start easier, and last longer.
I posted in here about, head gasket swap, a +4 degree advance timing key, and bigger main jet. That stock air box, air filter, and muffler is good to 5300-5500 rpm. You will only be turning it around 4200-4400 rpm.
That hemi don't need a advance key, its already got 26-27 degrees cut in the keyway on crank. That aftermarket pvl flywheel, would be a nice addition.

Before you go buying a bunch of parts, put that tank and carb on and make sure the engine is good with some run time. With all that rust, I doubt that tank can be saved, it'll start leaking around seams after a good cleaning. That's pretty thin metal.

Back to run time. With that much rust in tank, theres a good chance water has gotten inside the head, rusty valve seats, cylinder, rings. If any of these have rust, the engine will not last long. A couple hrs run time will tell.

Also, check that gov spring location and throttle stop screw.

If she's still running good after a couple hrs, then throw money at it.

I still have the gas tank from the old motor that came off the first go kart. It's squeaky clean. I drained and used the gas that was in it. I can use it for my test and bungee it up. Are the $15 Amazon carbs any good? No difference in hemi and non for carbs right?

I'd rather not rob from the new one, especially since the last of my parts are due tomorrow so I'm excited to finally get it running this weekend.

Cool 😎. I always have a test tank laying around.
Yea carbs are same. I'll find that kit for you.
But, really it's sooooooo ez to swap. 2 10mm nuts that are holding air box on. Pull carb back about 1/4- 1/2", lift spring out, lift throttle rod out. Boom, done.
Hell, you could have all ready changed it, as long it took me to type this, 🤣

Here the kits I use for stock engines, nothing fancy.
That black insulator plate gets brittle from heat, causes a vacuum leak and you will pull your hair out trying to figure it out. It's best to replace it while you are there. This is the better air filter, paper with a foam pre filter, it's all I will use.

That non hemi air filter is crap, I can $hit a better air filter. 😆 🤣 😂 😹

Thanks, I just ordered it.

Yea, I googled it and it looks pretty easy. Much easier than the ones on the original motor for the Chinese cart.
