need help with recoil,

so i pulled the legs off ready for a nice cleaning, as soon as the last leg came off it all popped out and the spring hit me in the face, okay so thats over, i can wind the spring just fine, but im having a problem putting in the peice of the pull start it connects to, any ideas?

Worst video I've seen to date.
Spray WD-40 into spring area...and a few drops of SAE 30 into hole in end of starter clutch.
No lubricant of any kind in ball/ratchet area. Must be absolutely dry and contaminant free.

probablly, my camera dosent pick up well when its dark outside and im using the chimsey kitchen light that has 5 bulbs, and 2 work, and the whole spring and all is out, i cant get it back in right, i can get it wound, but not into the hole of the slot, could it be because the end isint bent?

the-cyborg, the ratchet is brand new, its only had about 15 minutes of use on it

Take a file, and go over the outer part of the crankshaft and file the end of the crankshaft. Put it back on, the squeel should stop.
You don't have to file much at all...Just go over it a couple times.
Its not going to hurt anything as your not removing that much metal, only the burrs.

that was my point....
But, my whole house including living room, bed room and kitchen are reserved for Go kart parts and repairs... Good thing I own my own home!
