Need help with me pocket bike :(

ok everyone. I bought my pocket bike yesterday on eBay for $215. He said it was ready to ride, but sadly it wasn't. It needs a new tire, and a new brake handle. Also, the throttle was very badly tuned (it went about 2km/h). I adjusted it a little bit, and it went 10km/h or so. So I adjusted it a little more, and snap, the grey bit broke off the engine. I'll try and draw it, but what should I do? I don't suppose glue would be any use?

i think for a perminant repar you will need a replacement

i would try somthing like an epoxy putty or jb weld

if you take the rout on replacing it i would get a bigger carb if you can

How would I replace it? Would I need to buy a whole new carburetor? Couldn't I just buy the little plastic bit, and put it on?

i don't think you can buy parts like that sprat i would have a look on e bay for parts their is always a vast selection of parts for them on their

O think something was catching/jamming. You need a new cap and then test it with the slide out.

Josh, a replacement carb for that motor can be had on ebay for around $20. I'll find a link for you soon. The stock carb on these are 18mm, and many people put 22mm's on it.

hey guys, thanks for all the reply's. I went to town today and I found a place that has parts for them, It was $15 for the little cap :O :O. Anyway, now I need to put it on.

When I pull up the broken part and the spring, there is kind of a black tube that the throttle wire is going through. If I keep pulling that, what will happen? How do I go about putting the new cap on?

Normally the cable has a ball on the end. Compress the spring against the cap and away from the slide. Unhook the slide from the cable.

Do I have to unbolt the top of the carby? Or what?

*EDIT* remember I don't know much at all. Do I need to screw the petrol tank and seat off so I can get at it well enough? The tube is just what comes up when I pull up on the throttle cable with my hand. I can see 4 bolts that is what I think hold the carb to the engine. I don't know what the slide is :S Sorry, but I appreciate everything a lot.

Here is another picture. Is that black this coming out the slide? Do I just continue to pull it out? It started to feel hard to pull out. Does the end of the wire just hook up to it? I thought it would have to hook to something solid to the carb.

Hey guys. I've got the cable and new cap on all ok now. There is a new problem. I have the throttle adjuster right down the bottom close to the carby, and when I turn it on, it just revs really really high. The throttle feels a bit weird, really loose for 2/3rd's of the way, then it sort of clicks a bit after you twist it hard. Any ideas?

*EDIT* I understand it is possible to put the slide in the wrong way? How would this affect the throttle level?

I got it revving normally again. I turned the slide around again and it went down into it a bit more. Thanks for everyone's help.

Would it be normal that to start off, over a space of 3m or so, that it hardly got moving? It should still get going shouldn't it?
