Hey

I just bought a go kart for my daughter and needing help, and I'll post pics below, but I rebuild motorcycles and scooters so I got alot of parts just not familiar with the predator motors and these carts,

First question: What brand of cart is this ? I tried google but can't get a positive I.d.

Second question: What type of throttle cable would I need to use on this cart, any suggestions is greatly apperciated.

Third question: This is what I learned to be a dead axel go kart and it needs lug nuts but not sure the type, the guy I bought it from had normal nuts on the axel and it was pinching the hub and not letting the tire tuen any suggestions.

Fourth question: Any 1 got any good ways to rig up a set of lights to a go kart?

what engine is on it? look up the specs...worst case you could install a battery and just put it on a trickle charge at night (when needed).

It looks like a Carter Brothers 2606 or Shadow. Can't tell too much from the dark photos.

It's a 212 predator/ harbor freight motor

Looks like the carb's been modified. Orient your phone cam properly (so I don't have to turn my head sideways) and take some pics of the butt end. :D

Now these throttle rods I keep seeing--I don't know how they're supposed to work because it ends behind the seat. I guess the rest is supposed to be a flexible wire cable which doesn't make a lot of sense. A lot of the Manco throttle cables have an eyelet loop on the pedal end and it fastens simply to a bolt there. The other end is the usual attachment you see on roto-tillers and pushmowers.

How about a straight "bicycle cable" type from pedal to engine? But what I lamented on earlier is the exact way these hybrid throttle 'activators' are set up on these karts. Maybe the designers were on to something?

I believe there should be a cable clamp or just the remnant of it in the form of a post or metal strap welded to the frame near where the throttle rod ends. You could set up a short length of sheathed cable from there to the engine. Looking at a similar kart manual from the below source, one throttle cable was only 31" long. There's a lot to look through:
