I am new to all this so I thought I'd ask the professionals 😬. I bought this kart hoping it would be easy, well I don't know much so it's not. Was told by other groups that it has a GY6 engine. A lot of electrical wires are cut off and seen that some rubber hoses are disconnected. Can anyone help me with it1000018354.jpg1000018401.jpg1000018440.jpg1000018473.jpg1000018439.jpg1000018438.jpg1000018437.jpg1000018436.jpg1000018435.jpg

Congratulations on your start to an electrical engineering degree.

You have what looks like a chineese buggy. They go by many names and made by several companies but they all share the same idea.

There are many wiring schematics available on the web. They will all not be the correct one to the one you have but they will be close. Colors might not match but the connections will be similar. Your gonna have to trace back where everything goes.

We can help. You already started off good with pics.

All the bigger hoses look to be breather hose or emission related. Those will be non critical to get up and running. We can address those later.

Some of the wiring may not be used or necessary. Some of your loose ends my be from safety switches that were un done for easier use of machine. They like to have an occupancy seat switch and a brake switch and a neutral switch wired in before you can start the engine.

Do you have a good battery? Then does it crank over? Fresh gas?

Im gonna bet big money that carb needs a full teardown and cleaning. Not hard just tedious.

Lets see if there's any signs of life out of it.

Technically not a kart or go kart. WTR is right, it is a Chinese buggy, ATV, side-by-side. I mean come on, what go kart has mirrors and turn signals? 🙃

I think what you have is likely a Dongfang 200cc DF200GKA (if not some other brand and model). Yours has some slight detail differences to the one on the link like the wheel spokes and the extra driver and passenger side bars/braces. No telling what year yours was made.

But seriously, if it was a real go kart like a Yerf-Dog or something, you wouldn't have all the complications with the wiring and wiring harness. You'd love the simplicity of a Yerf-Dog.

Nice photos, bro. :cheers2:

I think you forgot the most important feature. " This vehicle conforms to current applicable EPA emission standards."

Yes! Im not going to give up just yet 🤣. Going to try out this harness and just figure out the hoses later

Nice. The “USA DongFang Wiring Harness 150cc 200cc (Upgraded AC+ Version 4.1)“ sounds promising and it’s USA made. Do a review after you get it and compare it to what’s left on the buggy. We know they 🇨🇳 use the cheapest components possible and their wiring and couplers don’t do well exposed to sun, rain, UV and the change of seasons; Not nearly as well as the Japanese stuff.
