Hello every one I'm new to the site and the go karting race world I guess I could say but me and my cousin are planning on building this go kart from scratch I realize that it will probably be expensive but with the help of any/everybody I hope to build something g that will be fun. Cheap. . . Ish and fast so I hope to get started soon:kewlsmiley: Coming soon
The go cart is a crg Kali cart it also has a plaque that says Red Baron hopefully that helps

Just so I understand, you have a frame? If so, that's called a "frame up" build; building from scratch implies you're also building the frame... just saying...

That was my mistake but now that I know it won't happen again.
Do you have any info on this "frame up" that might aid me in its completion?

Will have better pictures in about 1-2 hours but we have sanded most of the rust off we're going to re-paint it but don't know with what kind of paint acrylic maybe?

Prep the metal with phosphoric acid and shoot epoxy primer on it and you'll probably never see rust again. Messy to work with, but really good stuff in the long run. Of course you need an air compressor and I highly recommend a Harbor Freight purple spray gun.

I sprayed the roof and floorboard of my truck 2 years ago and not a speck of rust on it has returned and it's only in primer. Epoxy primer is awesome stuff for keeping out moisture.

For rattle can, Rustoleum is pretty good stuff too especially if you want color. Personally, I'm okay with flat gray or black. ;) My daughter is going to make me paint "our" kart pink though. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet.

The gun I was referring to is a small gun for automotive type work. I don't think you'd have much luck with shooting latex paint with it. House paint is way too heavy for a small nozzle like that.

I have an electric heavy duty thingy I got from Lowes a long time ago (forget what brand it is though). It pumps paint straight from the 5 gallon bucket. I used it once to paint my ceilings. It did a decent job on the ceilings in a real short time, but man the paint in the air was a mess. It got overspray on all kinds of stuff. You really have to cover absolutely everything you don't want paint on. I really didn't know what I was doing though, that might have been part of the trouble. I'm sticking with brushes and rollers for the interior now.
