Ok, Doug, I get it but, settle down please
Most truck frames are made of two parallel rectangle tubes with round tube crossmembers, perhaps you should look iinto something along those lines...

Thanks Tony- That's what I was alluding to- not that he use a truck frame. And I am settled down- it's just my way of saying you catch more flies with honey.

Responses like these are EXACTLY why I rarely post, or share anything I've built anymore.

There's disagreeing, and there's being an ***hole.

Use some tact.

I'm not referring to bardo.

Actually, I kind of like the truck frame idea. Find a ranger or s10 thats rusted out pick it up for scrap value pull the cab, bed ect. so you are left with just a roller. Then bob the frame and stick the van engine in the back . It wouldn't look pretty but it would be a hoot. I'll bet you could get down to under 1000lbs. You would already have the steering geometry worked out and brakes too.

If you sell the engine, transmission, rear axle and other stuff you might be able to even make a little bit.

Main reason I don't do this is because if I use 2 dodge k frames all I have to do is cut the metal I'm using to make a frame with to length then bolt them together from there start laying out what will be the rest of the frame work. Also where I live if the truck body is rusted chances are so is the frame.

And after 3 pages and people who have no reason posting in this thread, we have a answer. Thank you Tony

Yes, but it took until the 2nd page for you to ask the right question.

As for the bolded, you gota realize that this is the internet. There will always be people who you dont agree with but that doesn't mean they are wrong. Poboy and Machinist@large both had valid reasons to post in this thread and they raised valid concerns. If you stick around you will find that neither of them are out to get you and that they truly do want to help.

The question that Tony answered was originally ask on the first page in the 13th post. I just had to reword it.

When I originally made this thread I didn't know about the video. Also if some senior members were less **** and more helpful the site would have more active members then just 2,xxx
